In 2020, the government of Mauritius has introduced a Premium Travel Visa to allow a non-citizen to stay in Mauritius for a period of one year, renewable.
This scheme is open to eligible foreigners as tourists, retirees, or professionals willing to come with his/her family to live, carry out business, or work remotely from Mauritius. If you want to experience a year of living and working in Mauritius, we are here to take care of all your needs.
Conditions of the Premium Travel Visa:
- The applicants should not enter the Mauritius labour market.
- The main place of business and source of income and profits should be outside Mauritius.
- Documentary evidence to support the application such as the purpose of visit and accommodation will be required.
- Visitors should produce proof of their long stay plans and health insurance for the initial period of stay.
- Proof of sufficient financial means may need to be provided.

FAQ for the Premium Visa
Quarantine process related to the visa:
All passengers under Premium Travel Visa will have to go through the sanitary and health protocols established by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. All prospective passengers (including children and infants) travelling to Mauritius must possess the following documents:
- A certificate of a negative COVID – 19 PCR test administered not more than 7 days prior to the date of boarding at the last point of embarkation.
- A valid air ticket to Mauritius
- Proof of purchase of a travel package including accommodation, on a full board basis, at a designated hotel for a mandatory 14-day in-room quarantine.
